About Us

Our story begins in the early 1980’s with the OKC Downtown Lions Club and the launching of their newly developed “Teen Night” program. Through this program, those with intellectual and physical disabilities were provided the opportunity to attend four themed parties a year that included food, dance, and a social setting that allowed them to be themselves and have a great time.

More than 30 years later, Celebrating Together Inc. was created to provide continued positive engagement opportunities for the special needs community here in Oklahoma. Celebrating Together seeks to expand programming to include a variety of themed events, services, and resourcing to serve the special needs community. It is our priority to ensure that those we serve will always have a place in Oklahoma to see their friends, create new bonds and celebrate together; all without prejudice or judgement. We will be forever grateful to the OKC Downtown Lions Club for entrusting us with continuing and expanding their legacy program and for their continued support of Celebrating Together Inc.

Leadership Team

The leadership at Celebrating Together works tirelessly to strengthen our community bonds, amplify our mission of acceptance, and grow the legacy of joy we’ve inherited. We remain focused on building a sustainable future where every social event serves as a milestone of friendship and belonging for the special needs community.

Rhonda Splitt

President and Chief Executive Officer

Rhonda Splitt is the co-founder of Celebrating Together Inc., an organization dedicated to creating joyful, inclusive experiences for individuals with special needs and their families. Her passion for this mission is rooted in both her professional and personal journey. For 17 years, Rhonda served with the OKC Downtown Lions Club, where she helped host dances for the special needs community and led the program as chairman for 10 years. This work became the foundation for Celebrating Together, which she co-founded with her husband, Chris, in 2019.

Rhonda’s commitment is deeply personal. As a mother of four, including her son Hunter who lived with cerebral palsy, she understands the importance of connection, celebration, and belonging. After Hunter’s passing in 2020, she continued her service as a volunteer coordinator at the hospice organization that cared for him, a role she has held for over five years.

Rhonda and Chris share a close-knit family and are proud grandparents to three granddaughters, with a grandson on the way. Through Celebrating Together, Rhonda continues to honor her son’s legacy by bringing joy, inclusion, and community to others.
